Potential Public Safety Power Shutoff -This Event Has Been Closed

As of 7 AM Nov. 7, 2026, this event has been closed. No de-energization required.

----

Please be advised that due to high winds and potential wildfire conditions, BVES is placing a portion of our grid in scope for potential Public Safety Power Shutoff starting tonight and into tomorrow morning. No shut-off has been confirmed at this time. If an outage occurs, it will primarily impact customers on the West side of town. Full details are as follows.

  • Period of concern: 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7

  • Areas impacted: South Shore from Lakeview Drive (near Alpine Slide) to Big Bear Dam; North Shore from Fawnskin Post Office to Big Bear Dam

We know that outages are inconvenient, and we want to assure you that our team is working proactively to limit the number of customers impacted if a shutoff becomes necessary. Importantly:

  • This outage will NOT impact businesses located in the Village area

  • Our critical infrastructure, including our local hospital, sheriff’s station and major grocery stores, will NOT be impacted

  • If we do enact a shutoff, we will open our Community Resource Center (42020 Garstin Drive) so that impacted community members and visitors can charge devices as needed during the event. Hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. while the outage is in effect.

Our crews are currently working to proactively prevent a shutoff should winds reach anticipated levels by adjusting thresholds to keep our circuits running safely. We will keep you updated should a shutoff become necessary.
